Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center offers ACLS courses that provide essential training to manage serious cardiac emergencies in adult patients. The courses emphasize small group instruction and include hands-on practice using a human patient simulator.
Our BLS courses, sponsored by the American Heart Association, train participants to recognize life-threatening emergencies, perform high-quality chest compressions and ventilations, and use an AED effectively.
Registrants must be healthcare professional whose occupation requires managing the pediatric patient.
Course Format:
-
ACLS uses a hybrid model: most learning is done through an online self-paced module, followed by in-person skills testing at the Center for Simulation & Research (Vernon Place Building).
-
HeartCode BLS is also hybrid, with an online module available anytime via the AHA website, followed by a scheduled in-person skills session with an AHA instructor.
After registration, participants will receive an email containing links to the HeartCode ACLS or HeartCode BLS online modules, ACLS algorithm pocket cards, and other related resources. All pre-course work must be completed online before attending the in-person skills session.
